Keiron Leach
Biography
Keiron Leach lives and works in North Devon, his work is decidedly rooted in that landscape. His drawings in Indian ink and wash are intense meditations on landscape, perhaps the visual equivalent of Japanese Haiku poetry.
The paper Keiron uses is all pre-cut, dimensionally seldom greater than 2-4 inches. Then when out in the landscape he selects the size and shape that he thinks will best suit the view, before drawing the vistas en plein air.
Regardless of scale Keiron’s work aims to capture, and to hold something of the atmosphere of a place, a fleeting moment of time and space, something precious to be cherished.
Keiron was born in Guildford, Surrey, in 1974. He went on to study Fine Art at the Surrey Institute of Art and Design, and since graduating in 1995 he has exhibited his work in many galleries and group shows.
His work is currently represented by GBS Fine Art, Wells, Somerset.
“Black and white works – drawings, etchings, woodcuts and ink works are often small and have trouble competing for the glance of a visitor, and yet in these intimate visual statements we sometimes get closer to an artist’s mind.”
~ Jann Haworth
